Tale of Two Marinas

We had to replace the bridge canvas on the Green Machine. It was 15 years old and showed its age. Kissinger’s Canvas in Concord built the original so he got the nod for the redo. Highly recommended.  With a recent hull wax the Peridot really looks great.

We have been considering moving back to Pier 39 recently. It has gotten pretty sketchy recently with street freaks down by the ballpark. Going up to the the marina bathrooms/showers can be a real adventure. It is largely laid back at South Beach Harbor and the neighbors are great.

Very little surge here but the fairways are tight and there are no finger docks between each boat. Also very pricey compared to Pier 39.  Pier 39 is much more lively!

Quite a bit cheaper per month. Tidal surge and ferry wakes can make spending the night a bit rolly and you go through a lot more ground tackle. Nice to be able to walk to North Beach for dinner. Closer to the Golden Gate and the bait dock.

South Beach vicinity is undergoing massive changes. Will the Ramp, Kellys Mision Rock and the Boatyard survive the onslaught of development? South Beach is easier to get to now but what about when the Warriors are in town?

Interesting choices.
