I have been exploring the use of a laser cutter in marquetry projects. Very satisfying. I am also making my own frames from walnut, cherry and maple. Basic miter sawing and using a router to rabbet the inset for the inlay. The process is quite complex. Here is a quick synopsis of steps:

• Select or draw from scratch an image.
• Vectorize in Corel draw
• laser cut individual pieces
• fit into the composition
• glue and clamp
• Sand
• seal
• frame

We are exploring opportunities to collaborate with designers and artists on how laser cutting/engraving can be combined with machining and digital fabrication to realize ideas. We haz lazer (Trotec Speedy 400), experience, and time. Fluent in metals, woods, fabrics, acrylics etc. Hit me up.

Just got back from 3 days of excellent bass fishing. Bobber Lobbin. 80 fish days are easy if you have the stamina. Camped at Feather Falls KOA. Not a bad way to spend retirement……
